A network of community partners and services, #BrumTogether is a Birmingham based food distribution organisation service comprising over 70 local partners. In an effort to help low-income families isolating due to coronavirus, the West Midlands Ola team joined up with #BrumTogether.
Working tirelessly since early April the Ola team helped deliver over 500 emergency food packages with great enthusiasm and empathy.
Writing about Ola helping, Birmingham’s The Active Wellbeing Society said, “Ola drivers have been a great asset to the food distribution network. The availability of drivers has helped to plan and smoothly coordinate the food deliveries across Birmingham. All drivers are DBS checked and insured, and they are very familiar with local roads and routes.”
Ola has only been in the West Midlands since 2019 but has already become a huge part of the charitable community there and we can see why. Keep up the brilliant work!
Meet Zaibun, Khairun and Mehrun-Nisa
This a heartwarming story of three triplets who were born a day after England went into lockdown. Born prematurely at 27 weeks, the three sisters were kept at the hospital in special care and supported by incubators.
Their Mother, Maryam Azam has been receiving free travel from Ola to visit the triplets in hospital and bring them supplies. Mrs.Azam advised Birmingham Live she experienced Covid-19 symptoms not long after the identical twins were born. Luckily, it turned out to be a case of “severe hayfever”.
“I’m hugely grateful to Ola,” Mrs.Azam told Birmigham Live “It was much further to go when they were transferred and I cannot drive.”
London
Ola X Estée Lauder help Women’s Centers
Back in early May, our London drivers were doing great work to volunteer deliver over 2,000 care packages to Women’s Centers across the city. These packages were a lifeline for vulnerable women shielding and were kindly provided by Estée Lauder.
Team London thanked the Ola drivers publicly on Twitter with Ola CEO Bhavish Aggerwal later retweeting the thank you.
🛍️ Thanks to @olainuk for delivering over two thousand care packages to Women’s Centres across London, donated by @elcompanies.
